From Our Hands to Royal Hearts: Our Ceramics in an Inspiring Love Story

Do you enjoy love stories? We certainly do! Especially when our ceramic creations have the honor of being part of those stories.

This time, the story takes us to the Netherlands, where we take a look at Prince Willem-Alexander and his beloved Máxima, a love story that has captivated hearts worldwide. Though it wasn’t love at first sight, since 1999 when they first met, their bond grew stronger each day, leaving no doubt they were meant to be together.

And how could there be a romantic fairytale without some drama? Their engagement and eventual marriage plans stirred controversy in the Netherlands due to Máxima’s father, Jorge Zorreguieta, being a cabinet minister during Argentina’s dictatorship. Despite inquiries into his past involvement, Máxima’s father’s decision not to attend the wedding helped ease public concerns, allowing love and peace to prevail. In 2002, their royal wedding took place, and Máxima won over the Dutch with her dedication to her new country. Now, after over 20 years of marriage and with three beautiful daughters, their love story continues to inspire.

How did Mini keramika become part of this story?

It all began at the Frankfurt Fair (Messe), where a Dutch company was captivated by our exquisite ceramic artwork. They commissioned a miniature of the King’s Palace for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s wedding. The Royal Palace, originally built in the 17th century as a city hall, is a magnificent example of Dutch Baroque architecture and serves as a symbol of the country’s rich history. Located on Dam Square in the heart of Amsterdam, the palace has been used for royal events and state functions since becoming the royal residence. Its grand interiors, adorned with marble and exquisite sculptures, reflect the opulence and cultural heritage of the Dutch Golden Age. While we may not know where this miniature resides today, knowing our artwork touched this beautiful love story fills us with pride and joy.

Being part of Prince Willem-Alexander and Máxima’s journey, even in a small way, reminds us why we love what we do. We strive to create not only beautiful but also meaningful pieces that become cherished memories. Our work celebrates craftsmanship, love, and the timeless beauty of ceramics.

For us, the paramount goal is to craft unforgettable memories for people. If you desire to create a special moments for your loved ones, we are always here to help make it extraordinary. Do not hesitate to contact us, and we will help make it happen.
